Committed to Changing Lives, Strengthening Families, and Impacting Communities
We are a bible-based baptist church located in the historic Washington Heights section of Manhattan whose mission is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ!
Jesus is the only way to salvation, and we desire that all come to know Him and be transformed by the Word of God as the scriptures are read, studied, and practiced.
We enter the church building to worship but depart to serve others. RMBC continually seeks to serve the members of our community as a way of showing the transformative love of God.
We are excited to inform everyone about the Grand Opening Service scheduled for March 17, 2024!
The external work is done, and the interior of the church sanctuary and the apartments above are being completed!
Due to the advent of in-person services, Pastor Ellis will suspend online services via Zoom until further notice.
Please join us in the new Rocky Mount Baptist Church located at

Greeting in the name of the our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Spring is on the way! It serves as a reminder of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which secured eternal life for all believers.
The most important event in Christian history was when Jesus Christ vacated that tomb, which supposedly was a place of victory for Satan. This crucified Jesus was put away with the intent of never being heard from again. But we know the rest of the story.
In Revelation 1:18, Jesus says, “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
Jesus did just what He promised his disciples He would do. So this is the time of year to celebrate Jesus’ coming out of that tomb alive as we see God’s creation coming back to life all around us.
It’s a time to celebrate the gospel: the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It’s a time to remind us and celebrate what Christ did for mankind. Just as we watch and wait for spring to arrive, we also watch and celebrate the resurrection of Christ each year.
It is our reminder that we will one day celebrate eternal life with Christ.
Spring is one of the many ways God reveals himself to us. God knew mankind needed spring to feel the completion of a growing life.
So, as we enter this new season of renewal, we must challenge ourselves: Are our roots planted deep in the foundation of the Lord depending upon Him to grow and renew us day by day?
Happy Spring and Happy Resurrection Day!
Rev. James Ellis, Pastor
